Lorton

For a small-town feel, Lorton is the place. Here you’ll find a pleasing mix of urban and suburban characteristics. This Northern Virginia area comprises a number of scenic parks, including Occoquan Regional Park that runs along a tributary of the Potomac River.

Lorton is less than twenty miles south of Washington, D.C., making it a great place for daily commuters. Four major throughways surround Lorton–-I-95, the Fairfax County Parkway, Route 123, and Route 1–adding to the convenience and accessibility. It’s also within range of Alexandria, Arlington, and other popular destinations in Virginia.

While known for being a quiet neighborhood, there’s still much to do and see in and around Lorton. One popular attraction is Lorton’s Workhouse Arts Center, an old jail converted into studio space that supports dozens of local artists. You can take in contemporary art or engage in creative workshops. Most of the homes in this community are townhomes and single-family homes.
