Greenbelt

Bordered by College Park in the suburbs of Washington D.C., Greenbelt is a fast-growing area of Prince George’s County. The city takes pride in its lush natural surroundings that embody its namesake. As an intersection point of four major highways and a stop on the Green Line of the metro, Greenbelt is well known for its unparalleled accessibility and is nearby three major airports.

In addition to its remarkable convenience, Greenbelt has a unique history as the first of three New Deal “Greenbelt” Towns, created in 1937 under President Roosevelt’s administration. These towns were modeled after European “Garden cities” to create jobs and affordable housing. Today, Greenbelt is still known for its affordable housing, family-friendly small-town atmosphere, lovely natural surroundings, and a plethora of recreation options from museums and community centers to theaters!
